Annotation: This story is based on the Scottish ballad, “Tam Lin”. In this retelling, Jennet MacKenzie wants to claim back her ancestral home of Carterhaugh, which is said to be controlled by the Fey. Jennet plucks a rose and Tam Lin appears. Tam Lin is a human trapped by the Fey and needs Jennet to free him. Jennet follows his directions and passes the challenges given to her by the Queen of the Fey. Jennet and Tam Lin live happily ever after in Carterhaugh.
