Annotation: During World War ll, Ada Ruth’s mom leaves to go work in Chicago to make money for their family.  She promises that she’ll write and send home money. Ada stays behind with her loving Grandmother. While her mother is away, they keep up with their daily chores. Grandmother is very supportive and assuring towards Ada Ruth when she feels alone. Then her mother’s letter finally comes and Ada feels hopeful.
