Lost & Found
Jeffers, O. (2005). Lost and found. England: HarperCollins Children’s Books.
A young boy finds a penguin. He tries to help the penguin find his home; finally he decides to send him back to the South Pole. However, when the boy drops off penguin he looks sad and the boy realizes the penguin wasn’t lost, just lonely.
This would be a good book for young readers. The pages are simple so you could include it in your classroom library. The story follows a clear line so the students can easily make inferences.
This book was okay. I feel like there might be more quality books for students to read in a classroom so I probably wouldn’t use it in a read aloud. The relationship between the boy and penguin is cute and fun to follow.
Why did the boy turn around and go back to the South Pole?
