Brief annotation: In this story, a small girl named Thumbelina is taken from her home after which both a toad and a mole try to force her into marriage. Thankfully for Thumbelina, a swallow that she nursed back to health rescued her from this entrapment and flew her far away to beautiful and warm lands. There she becomes the queen of the flowers after meeting and marrying a small prince.

Personal response: This story is about friendship and bravery in the face of overwhelming challenges. If I were to use this story, I would have to make sure to talk about the importance of consent because this story clearly lacks that concept.
Text-dependent question: How did Thumbelina escape the mole?
